Active Kota

Kota is starting to repeat everything we say. It’s pretty cool. He can’t pronounce every word perfectly, but he is getting the rhythm and intonation down. I would not be surprised if he is making sentences in a month or so. I can’t wait until we start having conversations. He’s already pointing at everything and asking, “Nani?” which means, “What is it?”

I have to remember to be in the moment and appreciate what’s taking place right before my eyes. It’s very easy for me to drift off into my own world sometimes.

West Oakland

The photo is of the West Oakland Bart station, but I’m not in Oakland right now.

I’m in Washington, D.C., suffering from the heat and humidity. I think I am finally over jet lag. If I’m lucky, I might get a chance to visit the Smithsonian tomorrow. Okay, that’s weird, it’s raining buckets of water right now. Buckets of it. Lots of lightning and thunder, too, and the thunder sounds like it’s right outside my window.
