Yesterday we went to Sunnyvale to visit Mom & Dad. Mayra and Alessandro stopped by to say hi and we had a nice little photo shoot (click on the photo to see more). It was cool to see Mayra and her baby. Alessandro is 7 weeks older than Kota and is a big healthy boy!

We shared our experiences raising our little babies–this is a great thing to do as it helps us gauge if what we’re doing is good for Kota and see what other people are trying. Alessandro is sleeping through the night, to Mayra and Robert’s relief, I’m sure. We got some tips from her on how to feed Kota a lot before he goes to sleep, and sure enough, last night he slept from 12 am to 6 am!!!! Kyoko felt so much better today.

Mayra also recommended that we start putting Kota on the floor to help the development of his stomach and back muscles. Today we got him to lie down on a quilt that we placed on the floor. We could tell right away that this is going to be a great thing for Kota. Being on the floor, Kota is able to see everything in the room as it relates to him, not him on the couch, not him on the bed, not him on the bouncer. Also when he sees us he can see us in our entirety, from head to toe, something not always possible from an elevated position, I think. Anyway I’m sure this is going to help his development, hopefully encourage him to crawl, roll over, move on his own accord, etc.
